ProjectWise Web users can synchronize any work area connection that has been enabled for ProjectWise Drive.
Currently, only one work area connection per ProjectWise project can be enabled for ProjectWise Drive, and the first work area connection in all existing projects has already been enabled for ProjectWise Drive, so users of existing projects can begin synchronizing these work area connections as needed.
If a project has multiple connections, the administrator can control which connection is enabled for ProjectWise Drive (and therefore which connection can be synced) by turning on the setting Enable ProjectWise Drive either when creating the connection or later by editing the connection properties. This setting will be turned on by default for the first connection that you add to a project. If you add a second connection to the project and you want to enable the second connection instead of the first connection, just turn on Enable ProjectWise Drive when you are adding the second connection, and the first connection will be automatically disabled for ProjectWise Drive.
Note: ProjectWise Drive requires the ProjectWise Plug-in for Bentley Web Services Gateway (WSG) CONNECT Edition Update 3.436 (or later).
You can see which work area connection (if any) is enabled for ProjectWise Drive by going to the Manage ProjectWise Connections page in ProjectWise Web. There will be a check mark in the ProjectWise Drive column for the work area connection that is enabled for ProjectWise Drive.
Just like when creating a new connection, if you edit the properties of a connection to turn on the Enable ProjectWise Drive setting, it will automatically disable this setting for another work area connection, if another work area connection in this project has already been enabled for ProjectWise Drive.
Note: Be careful when disabling ProjectWise Drive in a work area connection, as it will automatically cause any current synchronizations to be unsynchronized, which could be potentially disrupting to your users’ work.
