There are settings to influence opening files with poor latency in ProjectWise, or optimizing performance opening files in ProjectWise.

Some things you can consider are…

Setting up a PW Caching server closer to the Users can help in a couple of ways.  You can set up storage of the files permanently closer to the users in an office far from the ProjectWise Integration Server.  Also, you can setup ProjectWise Temp Caching where the file is Cached after the first download from the ProjectWise Integration server \remote storage by the User in the ProjectWise Cache Server.

Can enable (this is on by default) Delta File Transfer to only download the "changes" in the file vs the whole file.

Can enable (Datasource setting) "Compress client\server request data"

Enable "Leave Up-to-Date" Local Copy on Checkin, Checkout, Free (See attached screen shot for different settings and descriptions of settings).

Can enable File Streaming for very large raster and\or Point Cloud on the PW Caching\Integration Server (whichever server storage has the Point Cloud files stored)

You can change the action for Titleblock update conditions (like manually Update the Titleblocks vs upon Checkout, Copy Out, or Open)

Can simplify how many attributes are displayed in "Views"

Can simplify security, by minimizing how many file\folder\workgroup security settings that gets captured in the Audit Trail.

Settings Descriptions below are in PW Admin module > Top Menu Help > Contents > Index Tab > User Settings > Network

The above and below settings have a Server setting in the PW Admin module > right click on Datasource > settings tab   and in addition, there is the PW Admin > Users node > right pane > highlight all users > right click > Properties > Settings tab

The below screen shot is from the PW Admin module > User Node > Right click on specific User in right pane > Properties > Settings tab > Document node

The description of the PW Admin > User settings is below (from the PW Admin “Help”)

You may Monitor and Analyze your ProjectWise system with performance counters - see link below:
