Problem
The service "Adaptive Server Anywhere - PWdatabases" will not start. The error message on the server says that the service did not
return an error and that it could be an internal windows error. Any suggestions on how to start the service would be appreciated.
When he reboots the server the service hangs for about 10 minutes then does not start.
However there are 3 users able to work. but he has 25 license and it was working fine for all 25.
Solution
Stopped the PW application service then started the Sybase service and it started with no problems. Then he started the PW APP service and all the users were able to connect, and both services continued to run.
Suggested that maybe a windows security update has caused some issues with the order of services starting after reboots, and that it may be possible to put a dependancy on the PW app service that Sybase must start first before PW APP server.
