Overview: Sometimes a user’s browser can rely on locally cached data rather than retrieving fresh data from the WSG server.  This can cause unexpected behavior while using Web Connected services. This article provides instructions on how to clear browser cache in order to record behavior in the most current form from the Bentley WSG server and connected service.

Products and versions:

  • Any Web Services Gateway version and WSG plugin.
  • Any Bentley Web Service

Pre-requisites \ Assumptions \ Preliminary setup:

  • User must be using a Chromium based browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
  • It is recommended that for Connect and PW365 services that users be configured to use a federated login rather than a logical account.

Steps

Google Chrome

  • Access the settings for Chrome by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the browser and select history.
  • From the History dialog, select the range you want to clear and press delete.

Microsoft Edge

  • Access the settings for Edge by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the browser screen to access the settings menu and then select History.
  • Select the Delete icon in order to access the options to delete menu.
  • Chose your options for range to delete and then press the Clear Now button
