Problem Description
If you can see thumbnails of drawing files (dgn, dwg..) and images (jpg, png) in ProjectWise Explorer but you do not see thumbnails of Microsoft Office files (word, excel) then check the following things.
Steps to Resolve
- Make sure if Microsoft Office is installed on ProjectWise Integration Server machine.
- Make sure if you see thumbnails in Windows Explorer. If you don't then make sure 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' option is unchecked. (In Windows Explorer, click on Organize - Folder and Search Options - View. Uncheck "Always show icons, never thumbnails")
- Make sure if 'Save Thumbnails for all Excel / Word documents' option is checked in Microsoft Excel / Word application. http://communities.bentley.com/products/projectwise/content_management/w/wiki/5536.aspx
After changing any of above options you should re-start processing for Thumbnail extraction in ProjectWise Administrator.
